Jacques Lacan spoke of a lapsus as something that ceases to matter. Then we are in the unconscious, we touch its Real, which is sometimes defined as its Letter, involuntary, inappropriate, indivisible.
As Collette Soler observes, "historicization is a detour through narrative, and narrative is always connected to meaning—because of the inability to testify to the unconscious outside of meaning."
Collette Soler emphasizes that psychoanalysis offers "to believe in the value of language not as a vector of communication, but as a trace of the radical originality of the subject", that is, to create a means of conversation and listening between someone who speaks a single and unique language and another who does not understands her and does not respond to her.
In this way, psychoanalysis offers to speak contrary to what Derrida called "the monolingualism of the other".
Bad listening means better hearing. It is the cultural references that slip away that help to avoid "understanding" and not to be caught up in imaginary relationships. In speech, the flow of speech is intertwined with the flow of Scripture like the surface of a Mobius strip.
Speaking marks the original fusion between pleasure, speech, and language.
